Product Introduction

Overview

Cyclopenta[7,8]phenanthro[2,1‑b]pyran is a polycyclic aromatic heterocyclic compound with a fused cyclopentane–phenanthrene–pyran skeleton. Its rigid, planar ring structure confers high thermal stability and characteristic spectroscopic properties. Under acidic aqueous conditions, the compound remains molecularly dispersed; under near‑neutral physiological conditions, it tends to form microcrystalline or colloidal precipitates, enabling slow, sustained release from local depots.

Applications

As a novel polycyclic heterocyclic scaffold, cyclopenta[7,8]phenanthro[2,1‑b]pyran is mainly used in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery as a core structure for designing receptor ligands, enzyme inhibitors, and fluorescent probes. It also serves as a reference standard in analytical chemistry, organic synthesis, and material science research for evaluating aromatic stacking, membrane permeability, and metabolic stability.
